Poor people’s market crowded in Nawabganj

On the opening day, 16 types of products were offered at half the market price.

Village or city, everywhere low-income people are affected by the rise in commodity prices. Life has become difficult for them. In this situation, considering the low income buyers, the "poor man's market" is offering products at half the market price. 

"Gariber Bazar" in Nawabganj of Dhaka is crowded with buyers. The buyers of the market are mainly low income people. Some are rickshaw pullers, some are shopkeepers, some are daily labourers. Hence the market is locally known as "poor man's market". Expatriate Mujibur Rahman Milon is the initiator of this great work.

About 50 households were provided with 16 types of products at half the market price on the inaugural day organized by VoiceAsian.news at 11 am on Thursday (February 9).

Each buyer receives three kilograms of miniket rice, one kilogram of lentils, one liter of soybean oil, one kilogram of sugar, flour, onion and potato, 50 grams of turmeric, 50 grams of chili, 8 eggs, one packet of noodles, one soap, one kilogram of cloth. Take kachar powder, two leaves of napa tablets, two leaves of gastroc medicine, five packets of food saline. The package price of the said product is Rs. 650.

The entrepreneur organized this on the occasion of upcoming Ramadan. The organizers said that these products will be available in the month of Ramadan.

Mujibur Rahman Milon, the founder of "Gariber Bazar" said, "Although this market was initially conducted in Dhaka and Chittagong, it will expand throughout the country in the future. We want to continue this trend in next Ramadan. I have always stood by the helpless, poor people during the difficult times of the country and will continue to do so."
